| Kitchen
units |
If
you're looking for a rustic traditional french kitchen,
build the kitchen units from scratch using plaster block
and lining with tongue and groove pine boards. Its cheaper,
better looking and made to measure. Details will appear
soon in the technical pages.

| To
tile or not to tile |
We
always seem to use tiles for the walls behind kitchen
units as if there isn't any other option. Again, tongue
and groove pine, suitably woodwashed with watered down
emulsion paint is an attractive and traditional alternative.
Take a look at the farmhouse kichen pages and the decorating
tips on how to woodwash for a traditional finish.

| Belfast
sinks |
The
french do an attractive alternative sometimes known
as the French farmhouse sink. However, both these and
the Belfast are very expensive, particularly so if you're
thinking of shipping it from England - we were quoted
£160 shipping - more than the cost of the sink.
Check out Mr. Bricolage carefully and you will find
a very similar good quality sink made by Villeroy &
Bosch, available in 3 sizes, at a price of around £60.
It's not always in stock, presumably because it's a
popular line, but you should find the description tag
on one of the empty shelves.
