THE
FARMHOUSE - Hallway
|
|
The
quarter-turn staircase leading to the second attic bedroom.
This area of the hallway had been completely covered
in plaster. From our previous experience of the cottages
we were fairly sure that some good looking stonework
and oak lintels would be underneath. The one good thing
about old plaster is that it keeps the stonework and
timber underneath in very clean condition.

A
novel idea for window ledges, yet very much in keeping
with age of the property. Tiles are easy to maintain
and very practical, here the front edges were finished
off with pieces of oak.
